FARGO — A popular downtown Fargo bar was negligent in hiring and supervising two former bouncers who assaulted a customer two years ago, a jury ruled Monday, Sept. 22. The ruling was for Nobles’ lawsuit against the Old Broadway, Buckner and Dalton. Nobles alleged the bar breached its duty to provide him a safe environment when Buckner and Dalton assaulted him July 23, 2023, outside the bar. ADVERTISEMENTSurveillance footage from within the bar didn’t show Buckner inappropriately touching Knott, the Old Broadway argued. Bar staff broke other policy the night of Nobles’ assault, including employee manuals that state security is not supposed to go outside.
