PARK RAPIDS, Minn. — There’s a new executive director at the Giiwedinong Treaty Rights and Culture Museum in Park Rapids. As he grew up, he became more interested in his culture, language and history as an Ojibwe person. “Even starting in high school, throughout college, I was working with places like the Science Museum of Minnesota,” he said. ADVERTISEMENTIn addition, he said, he hopes the museum will raise awareness in the wider community that Indigenous people are still here. The Giiwedinong Museum is open 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at 101 Second St. W. in Park Rapids.
