The alarm is thought to have been raised by a local fisherman at Aberporth at around 3.30 pm. The woman ended up being winched aboard a coastguard helicopter prior to being transferred to the Wales Air Ambulance which landed in a field adjacent to the Bryn Seion Chapel car park. Coastguard teams from Fishguard, New Quay and Teifi Valley attended and a drone was sent up to help locate the woman. Cardigan lifeboat was also dispatched to the scene. The casualty was subsequently flown to Caernarfon where her condition is currently unknown.
