The alarm is thought to have been raised by a local fisherman at around 3.30pm. Coastguard teams from Fishguard, New Quay and Teifi Valley attended the scene, and a drone was deployed to help locate the woman. Rescue crews carried out a helicopter operation and the casualty was winched aboard a coastguard helicopter before being transferred to the Wales Air Ambulance. The Wales Air Ambulance had landed in a field adjacent to the Bryn Seion Chapel car park to take over the evacuation. The incident drew a number of emergency resources to the Aberporth area as teams worked together to locate and extract the woman from below the cliff path.
