Sir Keir Starmer told Labour delegates that they were the patriotic party. To ram the point home the Labour Party made sure that everyone in the hall had a national flag to wave. He wanted the voters to know they heard their concerns, about migration and globalisation, and warned against easy answers from populists of left and right, arguing that there was no alternative to hard decisions to control debt.
