Oregon Rep. Mark Owens, R-Crane, who represents Baker and Grant counties in the Oregon Legislature, has scheduled a virtual town hall for Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. People who register can submit questions in advance. Owens represents House District 60, which includes all of Baker, Grant, Harney, Lake and Malheur counties and a portion of Deschutes County. Owens voted against the transportation package, which passed the House 35-8 and the Senate 18-11. The legislation also doubles the payroll tax used to support public transit from 0.1% to 0.2% until Jan. 1, 2028.
