Lucky couple ready for their once-in-a-lifetime mountain goat hunt near Baker City

The couple, who have been married for 23 years, both drew a tag to hunt mountain goats in the Elkhorns this October.
The state sells just 23 goat tags per year, and only three for the Oct. 1-31 hunt in the Elkhorns.
If there is a mountain goat highway in Oregon, this narrow path earns that distinction.
The largest share of Oregon’s mountain goats roam the Elkhorns, where the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife released 23 of the animals between 1983 and 1986.
The Kinds concede that this hunt is different than any of the dozens of others they’ve been on.
