Michigan State Police in Detroit responded to the scene near East Warren Avenue at 12:40 p.m. on Monday after receiving a call that a pedestrian had been hit. A preliminary investigation showed that a City of Detroit road maintenance crew was working on the right shoulder of southbound I-75 when a Buick Enclave driven by the Mt. One of the road workers that was outside of the vehicle was struck by the Buick and the pickup. Our road workers have a dangerous enough job without someone falling asleep behind the wheel or being distracted.”
