Mary Sue Connolly Cook, 95, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Gordon Hospice House. Mary Sue was born on October 10, 1929, to the late Cyrus Watt Connolly and Daisy Lee McLain Connolly. Mary Sue loved to play horseshoes and bingo, going fishing, doing yardwork, and growing flowers. In addition to her parents, Mary Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, JL “Junior” Cook; a granddaughter, Angela Belcher; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Gail Cook; brothers, Durant Connolly and Junie Connolly; and a sister, Eula Harris. Serving as pallbearers will be Lynn Cook, Shane Harris, James Belcher, Mike Pennell, Craig Pennell and Mike Talley.
