The Brief Mukwonago Village Clerk Lana Kropf survived multiple heart attacks and strokes in her 30s and now lives with a mechanical heart device.
Despite health challenges, she recently earned international certification, a distinction held by fewer than 4,500 clerks worldwide.
Kropf says she hopes for a future heart transplant but remains committed to her role serving Mukwonago residents.
What they're saying:"There is a turbine in my heart," Kropf explained.
Kropf said there are more people living with mechanical hearts than there are internationally certified municipal clerks.
