THE Federal Labor government now has a net zero target of 62-70 percent to reduce our one percent of global emissions. When the rest of the worlds' governments are scaling back or abandoning net zero targets we are doubling down on eliminating our global emissions which will make no difference whatsoever when China, US, India and Russia the world's biggest emitters are increasing their emissions every year. Unfortunately their net zero target will increase national debt, unemployment, electricity bills and the likelihood of power blackouts. The government's target comes with no plan and no costs. If someone said they would sell you a car which you can only use when the sun is shining or the wind is blowing without telling you the price, would you buy it?
