A woman who was knocked unconscious and arrested by two Solano County Sheriff’s deputies after stopping in Dixon to change drivers during a family trip in 2020 has reached a $17 million settlement with the county. Solano County Counsel Bernadette Curry did not return a Reporter request for responses to a series of questions; however, Matthew Davis, a spokesman for the county, forwarded a statement from Solano County officials:“Solano County has reached a settlement to resolve a lawsuit stemming from a use-of-force incident. “By resolving this matter through settlement, the County avoids the uncertainty of a jury trial and allows both the County and community to move forward. A sense of satisfaction, with achievement, but that is no longer in the cards for her.”Porter and her family, he added, have moved out of Solano County. “Due to the nature of the incident, they moved out of the area because of their association with the incident,” Almadani said.
