Manchester United U21s opened their EFL Trophy campaign with a heavy defeat away to Lincoln City, but the scoreline didn’t do them justice. He did well early on, coming off his line when he needed to and made two very good saves during the match. Jack Fletcher – 7.5 – He came closest to scoring for United, he could have had two with a bit more luck. Jayce Fitzgerald – 7 – Another who looked up for the battle physically, his industrious runs through the centre of the park were the making of much of United’s good play. Amir Ibragimov – 6 – Offered dynamism and pace in the final third with driving runs that troubled the Lincoln defenders which United missed throughout the match.
