Sarnia man jailed for breaking into compounds for copper wire
['Terry Bridge']
Sarnia Observer
A Sarnia man has been sentenced to more than six months in jail for repeatedly breaking into industrial areas of the city to steal copper wire.
Brock Holman’s lawyer, Terry Brandon, told the judge he uses the tools with which he was caught breaking in for legitimate uses in the construction trade and he doesn’t have any addiction issues.
Article contentJustice Mark Poland said that make it more difficult to understand the crime, which often is linked to a drug addiction.
“I don’t know what’s going on with you, Mr. Holman, but it’s probably time for you to be honest with yourself here about what exactly is going on in your life,” he said.
Officers found a ladder used to get into the fenced area, a tool bag, some copper, and Holman lying in the mud, the court heard.
