The Ministry of Youth, Social Development and Seniors will observe International Day of Older Persons tomorrow [Oct 1] under the global theme “Older Persons Driving Local and Global Action: Our Aspirations, Our Well-Being and Our Rights.”A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Youth, Social Development and Seniors joins the global community in marking October 1, International Day of Older Persons 2025, under the theme “Older Persons Driving Local and Global Action: Our Aspirations, Our Well-Being and Our Rights”. When younger and older persons are brought together, both groups benefit from the exchange of knowledge, mentorship and innovation. “Over the past year, the Ministry has advanced several initiatives to support older persons. “We have also introduced public education campaigns to raise awareness about ageism and highlight the positive contributions of older persons, while developing policies that ensure older persons can age with security, dignity and respect. “Honouring the past, empowering the present, and shaping the future; our older persons are, and always will be, at the heart of Bermuda’s progress.”Read More AboutCategory: All
