A Qantas plane flying from Sydney to Johannesburg was forced to make a sudden U-turn after pilots were alerted to a technical fault. The A380 was just south of Tasmania when it suffered a fault with its satellite communications just four hours after takeoff on Tuesday morning. QF63 left Sydney Airport just after 10am and had over 400 people on board, who were provided with accommodation for the night. The flight from Sydney to Johannesburg takes 14 hours.
