A crowd gathered in Zionsville Sunday night to honor the life of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated in Utah earlier this month. Many GOP politicians have called for consequences to people who share negative statements in the wake of Kirk's killing. Swack said Kirk was a champion of free speech, and held the First Amendment very dear. She said the way to win hearts and minds is by having civil dialogues, and that free speech is what makes America great. The Zionsville vigil came on the same day tens of thousands showed up for a memorial service held in Glendale, Arizona.
