Kyle Laughton, of Earle Street, Earlestown, went before Liverpool, Knowsley, and St Helens Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, September 16. He was caught driving a Ford Transit van on Connaught Drive, Newton-le-Willows, with 54 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, in excess of the legal limit of 35. He was disqualified from having a licence for 12 months, which can be reduced by three months upon completion of an approved course. Laughton was also fined £438, and made to pay a £175 surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service. His guilty plea was taken into account upon sentencing.
