The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA’s) Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant (REDLG) program would be extended under a bipartisan bill sponsored on Sept. 26 by U.S. Rep. Zach Nunn (R-IA).
“Rural communities are the backbone of Iowa,” Rep. Nunn said.
“Whether it’s expanding broadband, building a new medical clinic, or growing a small business, the bipartisan investments we’re making will create jobs, improve Iowans’ quality of life, and help rural communities thrive.”The Revitalizing Rural Communities Act of 2025, H.R.
The REDLG program provides rural utilities with zero-interest loans and grants to support local development.
5598 is supported by USDA Rural Development’s Iowa State Director and the Winterset City (Iowa) Administrator.
