Work began on the redevelopment, which has been funded by a £5 million grant from the Government, in July 2024. The project aims to make the building more modern, accessible and fit for the future. “Our vision is to transform Pyramid into a more modern and accessible venue that serves the whole community, nurtures homegrown and up-and-coming talent and attracts performing artists from all over the UK and beyond,” a spokesperson for Culture Warrington said. There will also be a new box office, an improves dedicated gallery space for exhibitions, upgraded toilet and changing facilities, accessibility enhancements and improved internal and external signage. Pyramid Arts Centre, run by arts charity Culture Warrington and owned by Warrington Borough Council, is set to remain closed until early 2026, with the car park closed while the work is ongoing.
