Agreement: I AgreeBody: Dear Editor It was great to read the virtues as extolled in this piece by Professor McNally regards flexible working - but as a senior doctor myself, I am being told the opposite by my HR/management - despite many years working effectively one day a week from home on my Supporting Professional Activity and clinical admin (with the other 4 days on site), they now want me to work on site for this day too - this shows a lack of trust in me, less job autonomy, more personal angst, and makes me less happy than I could be in the twilight of my career. They even said they are doing it as 'some people took liberties' during the pandemic - when I did the opposite. Rather than flexible working, and bespoke individualised job plannning , it seems we are regressing to the mean. It makes me want to leave and retire now with 15 years to go, yet only 5 years ago I said I wanted to work in the NHS till 70.
