The event, the third of its kind, will be held at Stockton Heath Methodist Church, Walton Road, on Saturday, October 11, from 10am to 12pm. Organised by The Bridgewater Churches Together, the ecumenical event welcomes all to drop in at any time to participate. Now that the UK Government has recognised the State of Palestine, campaigners are continuing to push for humanitarian aid entry into Gaza, a permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of all Israeli troops from Gaza and the West Bank, and the cessation of UK arms sales to Israel. The vigil also aims to remember those who have lost their lives in the conflict over the last three years, as well as the individuals who are currently held captive in Gaza and Israel.
