The authority confirmed its monitoring officer rejected a request to “call in” the Cabinet’s September 9 decision to put the Queen Victoria Road site on the market.
He renewed his call for a town council, describing the current committee system as “toothless”, and added: “It is time for Wycombe to rise.
This fight is bigger than Queen Victoria Road.
Mayor of High Wycombe Cllr Majid Hussain said: “Losing QVR is not about losing a service I think Wycombe will lose its identity.
Councillor Robert Carington, Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Resources, said “We’re on an exciting transformation journey in High Wycombe and this is another piece in the jigsaw that keeps the Council’s ambitions for High Wycombe moving forward.”
