It stated: "Following a series of unexpected costs in recent months, including energy overcharges and backdated payments, Stokenchurch Parish Council has agreed to temporarily restrict non-essential spending.
Current parish council chairman, Cllr Tracy Ramsden said: “Placing a temporary pause on non-essential spending is a sensible step to safeguard the parish council’s finances and ensure long-term stability.
"I would like to reassure residents that Stokenchurch Parish Council's key services will continue as normal, key projects remain on track and the council is managing its responsibilities with care."
The council stated that it remains in a 'strong financial position, with reserves of around £47,000 and no debt'.
On its website, Stokenchurch Parish Council stated: "The council wishes to thank Ex-Chairman Vicki Nuthall for all the work she has done for the many years she has been on the council and she will be sorely missed."
