-- The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office announced former sheriff's office employee Haley Atherton turned herself in on Tuesday for active warrants. Court documents from Elkhart Superior Court 3 reveal Atherton was previously employed by the ECSO as a Booking Specialist at the Elkhart County Jail. On or about June 9, the Goshen Police Department received information that the ECSO Jail Secretary was unable to balance the ECJ Inmate Trust Fund Account. It was found that the Inmate Trust Fund Account's discrepancy was $22.25. She also said she was surprised to learn she'd made over 600 debit cards for people who were released prior to her issuing the debit cards for herself.
