A police officer previously told Dungannon Magistrates Court Stansfield allegedly requested indecent images from the child, which was discovered when a relative checked her phone and raised the alarm. A defence barrister said: “As I have repeatedly raised before, this case is utterly simple. The McAleenan Warning also means if the prosecution cannot meet the date fixed by a judge the case can be thrown out. Given the previous warning the defence requested Judge Rafferty to dismiss the case however he stopped short of that and allowed a “final chance” for committal which he ruled must take place on October 15. He added: “The prosecution can ascertain what will happen if this case does not transfer to crown court on that date.”Stansfield was remanded in continuing custody.
