Tyrone woman convicted for falsely claiming £3,000 in benefits

Laura McDermott (37) of Mullaghmore Drive, Omagh, claimed Income Support totalling £3,239 whilst failing to declare employment.
She was given one month imprisonment suspended for twelve months.
The fraud was uncovered following an investigation by the Department for Communities.
Miss McDermott is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongly obtained to the Department.
Suspected benefit fraud can be reported to the Department for Communities anonymously.
