The Nasarawa State Government, in collaboration with the World Bank, has approved about ₦1 billion for the purchase of basic equipment for Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) across the 13 local government areas of the state. The Executive Secretary of the Nasarawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Usman Iskilu Saleh, disclosed this in Lafia during a media chat marking his one year in office. He commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for exceeding expectations in the health sector, noting that “82 PHCs have been revitalised to guarantee healthcare delivery across the state.”Dr. Saleh explained that “the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s national guideline, which mandates every electoral ward in Nigeria to have at least one revitalised and functional PHC.”He said; “To that effect, about 82 revitalised primary healthcare centres have been successfully completed and now functional. “Also, you cannot have functional primary healthcare or infrastructure without people manning those facilities. He promised continued partnership with the media to enlighten residents about its activities and programmes.
