Thailand’s Meteorological Department (TMD) has warned residents nationwide of heavy rain, thunderstorms and rough seas as the monsoon trough and a nearby typhoon intensify. In the central region, scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain are forecast for areas including Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Lopburi, Saraburi, Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi. Eastern Thailand will experience fairly widespread thundershowers, with isolated heavy rain in Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chachoengsao, Chanthaburi and Trat. Along the South’s east coast, isolated thundershowers are likely in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan and Chumphon. Bangkok and the surrounding metropolitan area can expect fairly widespread thundershowers with isolated heavy rain.
