A synagogue in Hollywood appeared to be one of a handful of places of worship in Florida that were targeted by people making swatting calls on Tuesday afternoon. Hollywood Police said they responded to Temple Beth El Synagogue before 1:30 p.m. after receiving a call of a possible threat. "We are actively working to identify the caller and hold them accountable," Hollywood Police said in a statement. Also on Tuesday, law enforcement in Tampa and Orlando responded to reported threats made to synagogues and other places of worship. Ron DeSantis signed HB 279 to crack down on people who make swatting calls.
