Police officers are investigating a train crash that killed a man Tuesday night in Durham. According to the Durham Police Department, the crash happened around 5:39 p.m. when a train was traveling east and hit a man walking in its path. The train conductor blew the horn to alert the man, but the man did not stop and was hit by the train. According to police, the man was wearing headphones when the crash happened. A UNC Wilmington student was killed in August in Clayton after she was struck by a train while she was wearing headphones.
