The quartermaster of the Yamhill County VFW post has pled guilty to defrauding the larger veterans organization of more than $1.78 million. She worked for the state VFW organization for more than 19 years before her arrest. County charges droppedYamhill County District Attorney Kate Lynch said the resolution in the state case led to dismissal of the charges against Campos in Yamhill County on April 3. A Yamhill County grand jury charged her with 11 counts of aggravated theft and three counts of first-degree theft, all felony charges. The indictment alleged that over a roughly two-year period from June 2022 through August of this year, Campos stole a minimum of $114,000 from the Yamhill County VFW post.
