SALT LAKE CITY — Ahead of a highly anticipated event at Utah State University — the first Utah event held by Turning Point USA after the killing of Charlie Kirk — a speaker selected to be there shared his thoughts as he prepared himself hours ahead.
Utah’s former-Rep. Jason Chaffetz said it was an honor to be asked by the nonprofit, which referred to him as “The Honorable Jason Chaffetz” in its event details, to be a part of it.
“Charlie Kirk was one of a kind and there are not many people that have affected a younger generation to the degree that Charlie did.
And here you had the assassination of Charlie Kirk less than three weeks ago,” Chaffetz said.
He said he was glad to see him scheduled to visit Utah twice — first at UVU and then at USU.
