Anadolu Efes began their EuroLeague campaign under new head coach Igor Kokoskov with an 85–78 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv in Podgorica. For the losing side, Jalen Hoard got 22 points; however, the big headache for Maccabi is that Lonny Walker left the game injured. Panathinaikos also opened its EuroLeague season with a win, defeating Bayern Munich at the Telekom Center in Athens 87–79, as Kendrick Nunn starred with 21 points and 10 assists in front of a sold-out crowd.
