(ABC 6 News) — On Tuesday, a local veteran was honored in a special way as Trevor Nelson, a U.S. Army National Guard veteran, got a brand-new roof. The Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project, a nationwide effort providing new roofs to veterans, partnered with Purple Heart Homes and Priority Construction to show their gratitude to those who have served. The Deployment Project began in 2016 and has since provided new roofs to more than 700 military members free of charge, and now, Nelson is one of them.
