The findings come from new research by housebuyers4u, which analysed government energy data to uncover the devices that add the most to household bills. Cold appliances dominate the top of the list, taking three of the five most expensive spots. At the other end of the scale, lighting products now dominate the list of the cheapest appliances to run. Upgrading from an older model could save households a lot of money in the long run.
