Basic Education Teachers Union of Zambia (BETUZ), has praised the Government for sustaining the school feeding program, strengthening the free education policy and its plan to recruit 3,500 teachers by 2026. BETUZ Secretary General, Henry Sinkala, says the budget that was presented to Parliament last Friday is a great milestone in improving the education standards in the country. He also reiterated the union’s support for the Government’s education reforms, saying they align with the country’s vision of promoting inclusive and equitable education for all. And National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA), NIPASU president, said the bursaries will not only support academic growth, but also reduce dropout rates among students facing financial challenges. He has since urged the government to ensure transparency in the selection process so that the bursaries reach the intended beneficiaries.
