Access to safe contraceptive methods and comprehensive sexuality education is one of the outstanding challenges in reproductive health. The National Survey on Demographic Dynamics (ENADID 2023) shows progress in sexual and reproductive health in Mexico, but also reveals significant challenges, especially in Yucatán. In Yucatán, the situation is more complex because the state maintains one of the highest teenage pregnancy rates in the country, reflecting the lack of comprehensive sexuality education and access to safe methods for young people. However, its availability remains limited in rural and indigenous areas, where barriers to accessing reproductive health services persist. These differences require targeted public policies to address the gap in sexual health.
