The Sports Ambassadors programme at Whitmore High School in Barry has trained 58 pupils aged 13 and above to become coaches and leaders, delivering inclusive sports and leisure activities at the secondary school and in local primary schools. The scheme is run in partnership with the Vale of Glamorgan Healthy Living Team. Angela Stevens, healthy living officer, said: "I’m thrilled with the involvement of all ages and abilities in local primary schools. "This can be the start of an active lifestyle with health benefits that last, and hopefully something families continue together." "The Sports Ambassadors have involved 1,400 primary school pupils this week through the fun run events, and I am exceptionally proud of their hard work and commitment.
