STUDENT OPINION: Cutting student lunch program a setback

Over the past year the Michigan Legislature have been in debate about appropriate funding and budget for Michigan’s school lunch program.
I think the state should keep providing free school lunches for all students that attend public schools in Michigan.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic in March of 2020 many students and families have benefitted from this program.
The government funds things that society benefits from like libraries and roads, and I feel that free school lunch fits in there just the same.
