Well, wake up folks because it’s finally cooling down just enough to enjoy our second golden season in autumn. A back-to-back swing of 5-kilometer runs — that’s 3.1 miles for the metrically-challenged — are in Vicksburg the next two weeks. The first is Vicksburg Catholic School’s 11th annual Spooky Sprint this Friday at its campus at 1900 Grove St. It includes a 5K run and race walk, as well as a 1-mile children’s fun run, but that’s only part of it. The Spooky Sprint is a light-hearted race intended to kick off the Halloween season.
