VWSD rolls out real-time GPS tracking for safer, more efficient school bus routes

School buses in the Vicksburg Warren School District (VWSD) now have GPS devices that are monitored in real time by the school transportation department. Kimberly Taylor, transportation supervisor, stated that the systems were installed on most buses for the 2025-26 school year. "We keep up with over 100 buses," Taylor said. "We have 69 with the GPS systems on them." The GPS systems report to an app that Taylor uses to track bus movements, time spent at each stop, time spent idling, and maintenance status for each bus.
