Our new KSTP/SurveyUSA poll indicates a majority of Minnesotans want lawmakers to meet in special session.
According to a cross-section of 675 registered voters across the state, 58% of respondents say there should be a special session, while 28% said there should not be.
Looking inside the numbers, 86% of Democrats want a special session, while 43% of Republicans and 46% of independents do.
Schier says it’s important for the governor and lawmakers to reach a pre-agreement before a special session.
“If you start a special session without an agreed-upon agenda, it can sprawl,” says Schier.
