Retrospective planning approval for the bungalows at Northwick Marina was granted by Worcester City Council at a planning meeting in June. Campaigners had hoped this would be on the condition that the developer pay to fix Northwick Slip - a riverside footpath that has been closed since March 2021. But planning documents published by the council show there is no condition relating to the repair of the footpath. The developer will have to carry out an approved upgrade to the properties’ drainage system and install a new headwall to ensure “safe, stable” discharge into the river. Owner Malcolm Farmiloe said at the planning meeting that the discharge pipe did originally have a concrete headwall but this was swept away in the riverbank collapse.
