Man dies after being struck by policeman’s carKaieteur News – A man was killed Tuesday morning when he reportedly ran into a policeman’s car on the Mon Repos Public Road, East Coat Demerara. Police said they have launched an investigation into the accident that occurred at about 00:20 hours today. Enquiries disclosed that the car was proceeding west along the northern drive lane of the southern carriageway of Mon Repos Public Road when the pedestrian ran from south to north into the path of the car. He was picked up in an unconscious condition, placed in an ambulance, and conveyed to Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where the pedestrian succumbed from his injuries. The body is at the Georgetown Public Hospital’s mortuary, awaiting identification and a post-mortem examination.
