That choice gave birth to the United Nations — not as a dream for perfection, but as a practical strategy for the survival of humanity. Everywhere — from Haiti to Yemen to Myanmar to the Sahel and beyond — we must choose peace anchored in international law. Which leads me to the second point: we must choose human dignity and human rights. Let us choose human rights and dignity. It must promote human rights, human dignity and human agency.
