Minister of Tourism and Culture, Carlos JamesFront PageSt Vincent and the Grenadines’ (SVG) tourism industry is experiencing record-breaking growth, and as a result, several investors ranging from hoteliers to transportation companies are showing interest in the country. The attracted investments include four major hotel projects set to commence within the next 36 to 48 months. Minister of Tourism and Culture, Carlos James spoke of these initiatives on Monday, September, 15, 2025, at the ‘State of the Tourism Industry Address and Stakeholder’s Conference’ at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown, held under the theme, “Strength in Unity: Advancing the Vincentian Visitor’s Experience”. James said that the destination welcomed over 100,000 stay-over visitors in 2024 for the first time in its history (statistics show a 27% increase in stay-over arrivals in 2024 compared to 2023), and 2025 has already recorded 70,000 stay-over visitors between January and July, 16% higher than the same period last year. It will help address seasonality, to unlock opportunities for hosting larger events and generate over 2,000 jobs across hospitality services.
