Chelsey Leather, who started her career in care at 17, works as activities coordinator at New Copford Place, which is run by charity Friends of the Elderly.
She has been shortlisted for the Care Activities Co-ordinator/Facilitator of the Year award, acknowledging her "exceptional contribution" to the residents' quality of life.
Chelsey said: "I’m absolutely over the moon to be a finalist at this year’s National Care Awards.
Chelsely's approach at New Copford Place focuses on "creating joy, confidence, and purpose", rather than just filling time.
"Everyone at New Copford Place - and at Friends of the Elderly - will be cheering her on for a very well deserved win."
