Colchester Council previously announced the closure of the boating lake, in Lower Castle Park, in May due to the disruption of water flow from the Middle Mill Weir.
The boating lake is normally home to peddle boats run by the café in the park, but it cannot be automatically refilled with water so was previously topped up with water flowing from the weir.
A Colchester Council spokesperson provided an update to the Gazette, they said: “At present, the boating lake remains empty.
Prior to its closure, the boating lake was used as an amusement with peddle boats, operated by the owner of Café in the Park, Johnsons Catering and Leisure.
They added: “There is no confirmed timeline for when the boating lake might reopen or be refilled.
