Following an extraordinary meeting on the pending local government reorganisation in Essex, a decision as made to support the five-unitary model. The model was previously supported by the council’s cabinet and would join Colchester with Tendring and Braintree, if adopted. Councillor David King, leader of Colchester Council, said: “This is a significant moment for Colchester and for Essex.
